some days
there is thunder in my chest
all black cloud and silver rain
it’s not sad, no, not that;
but it moves, pulses,
deep veined and oily,
pounding my body into a marionette,
strange angles and thrumming limbs

strange angles and thrumming limbs
it wants out

like a pouring of hot black lava
from deep crags of wild light.
