Poetry has seeped
into me.
Inch by wicked inch.

I am drowning
into this moving body,
this vast ocean
of waves and undercurrents
that push and
pull and throw me

I am drowning, drowning
in it’s vast lapping
And the wild, naked
thrum of my heart.

Such profound silence.

And then, quick
as darts,
an explosion of thoughts,
like a sunburst of ocean fish
on it’s darkened floor,
darting, cavorting,
tender and brilliant…

Gasping, I come up
for air, and
the words, they cling
to my skin
like droplets from the ocean,
glittering and salty…

into my skin.
