The Silvern Arrow

The obsidian depths
were rent in two
as a mighty arrow
across them flew
with thunderous rage
swift and silver
it surged below
like a molten river
and without contrition
without remorse
it charged the earth
with tremendous force
only to be seized
within her earthen bounds
with but a tremble
and nary a sound
and the agitated skies
churned their empty folds
gathering strength
to charge once more
and so it raged
without end in sight
on that one
very stormy night.
